A non-profit making organisation dedicated to improving standards in fire protection. It is supported, amongst others, by government, trading standards and the Health & Safety Executive. BAFE adopts third party certification schemes developed by independent certification bodies and where there are not relevant schemes in place, develops its own.

The Fire Industry Association is a not-for-profit trade association with the aim of promoting the professional standards of the fire safety industry; we provide training courses to members and non-members alike on all the latest legislation and regulations governing the industry and operators within it.

The Independent Fire Engineering and Distributors Association was founded in 1989 as the independent representative body of fire trade companies. Unaligned to manufacturers our major role is to promote quality standards and professionalism in service delivery and the distribution of fire protection products. To promote these benefits to Government Departments, Fire Authorities, Insurance Companies, end users and other fire trade companies. To represent the fire trade at Government level in respect of Legislation and British and European Standards Committees covering all aspects of fire protection.
